Points System Description
- Teams competing on behalf of their High School Bass Fishing Club in a variety of
Illinois High School Bass Nation tournaments will earn points that accumulate in
the Sublime Wear USA’s Illinois High School of the Year Race based upon Illinois
High School Bass Nation Points System.
- In Illinois High School Bass Nation Events, as identified by Sublime Wear USA, up
to two (2) teams per High School Fishing Club may earn points in each of the
recognized tournaments. In the event that a high school bass fishing club has
more than two (2) teams in a tournament, points will only be awarded based on
the high school bass fishing club’s two (2) highest finishing teams in the final
standings based on the below points criteria. Teams must weigh in a fish to earn
points.
Illinois High School Bass Nation Regular Events and Major Events Include:
● Newton Lake - March 16, 2025. Southern Division
● Major Event: Springfield Lake - April 13, 2025, North Versus South
● Braidwood Lake - April 19, 2025, Northern Division
● Crab Orchard Lake - April, 27, Southern Division
● Calumet Saganashkee Canal - May 18, 2025, Northern Division
● Major Event: Illinois High School Bass Nation State Championship - May 31, 2025 through June 1, 2025 Clinton Lake.
Points for Regular Illinois High School Bass Nation Events
- Points will be based upon the Illinois High School Bass Nation Points System. 1st
place will earn 100 points with the exception of Illinois High School Bass Nation
Major Events. Point increments will decrease by 1, all the way down to the final
team that weighed in fish during the event.
Points for Major Illinois High School Bass Nation Events
- Illinois High School Bass Nation Major Events are critical in shaping the final
outcome of the Sublime Wear USA’s Illinois High School of the Year Race.
● Springfield Lake - April 13, 2025, North Versus South
● Illinois High School Bass Nation State Championship - May 31, 2025 through
June, 1, 2025 Clinton Lake.
- The Illinois High School Bass Nation North Versus South event on Springfield Lake [4/13/2025]
will be worth “Double” points.
- [Example: 1st place, 200 points, 2nd place, 198 points, 3rd place, 196 points, etc.]
- The Illinois High School Bass Nation State Championship event on Clinton Lake [5/31/2025 - 6/1/2025]
will be worth “Triple” points.
- [Example: 1st place, 300 points. 2nd place, 297 points. 3rd place, 294 points, etc.]
In the event of ties
- Ties in qualifying events will be resolved according to Sublime Wear USA’s
School of the Year Race Tie Breaker Rules as mentioned below:
1st Tie Breaker
- The High School Bass Fishing Club with the highest number of points excluding
Major Events
2nd Tie Breaker
- The High School Bass Fishing Club with the highest number of points at the
Illinois High School Bass Nation State Championship
3rd Tie Breaker
- The High School Bass Fishing Club with the highest number of points at the
Illinois High School Bass Nation North Versus South Tournament
4th Tie Breaker
- The High School Bass Fishing Club that fished the greatest number of Teams in
the Illinois High School Bass Nation Events.
Disclaimer
- Sublime Wear USA will write the School of the Year Race Scholarship to the
winning Illinois High School club’s sitting Coach, or President, of the team.
Person(s) verification will be completed between Sublime Wear USA, and the
winning participating Illinois High School Bass Fishing Club’s school.
- Sublime Wear USA is not responsible for the proper distribution of said School of
the Year Scholarship, as each school or team may have different standards or guidelines of
who is eligible to receive the scholarship.
- Accumulation of points for Sublime Wear USA’s Illinois High School of the Year
Race are completely separate from any Illinois High School Bass Nation awards,
recognitions, or scholarships throughout their trail.
- Sublime Wear USA’s School of the Year Race is held solely to promote the growth
of high school bass fishing clubs within their proper school districts, and to
promote the cohesion and growth between high schools and their bass fishing
clubs.
